Carey D. Fiertz is the President and founder of the ERM Group of Companies. A graduate of Dartmouth College with a degree in Economics, Carey began his career as an international property-casualty insurance underwriter for Chubb, American International Group (AIG), and Hartford.

Switching career focus after 10 years, he joined the Foreign Credit Insurance Association (FCIA) in 1989, responsible for export credit insurance sales in parts of the Northeastern United States. Regularly ranked among FCIA's top sales staff, Carey subsequently served as a Marketing Officer for the Export-Import Bank of the U.S. before starting Export Risk Management, Inc. in New York City  in 1993.

Carey relocated to Salisbury, Connecticut in 2001 after 17 years in New York. He was elected to the Dartmouth College Alumni Council in 2000 and served on its Executive Committee, and is currently District Enrollment Director for Dartmouth applicants in Litchfield County, Connecticut. Carey is also a director of the Salisbury Winter Sports Association, the Friends of the Scoville Memorial Library, the Twin Lakes Association, and the Salisbury Forum.

Carey has lived in Canada, Switzerland, and Germany, and is fluent in French and German, with some Spanish.

Richard "Chip" Thomas is a global trade and banking expert, and the Director of Training for The American Export Training Institute, which became a division of Export Risk Management, Inc in 1999. Chip is a former banker (Mellon Bank and predecessors) who has taught the secrets of successful trade finance to thousands of satisfied customers all over the world. He attended the University of Illinois and has a graduate degree from Thunderbird, The American School of International Management.

Chip is a member of the District Export Council of Greater Philadelphia. He resides in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, and has lived in Mexico and Colombia. Chip speaks fluent Spanish.
